Troy experienced what no father or husband ever should. A truck ran a stop sign and crashed into the family minivan, hospitalizing his three-year-old son Chase, and leaving his wife, Heather, in a coma with a traumatic brain injury. Tragically, the crash took the lives of his five-year-old son Carson and five-month-old daughter, Claire. 

Come along as Troy takes the audience on an amazing journey of perseverance from tragedy and adversity to hope and healing.

Meet Troy DeJoode, President of the Carson & Claire Forever Foundation
Troy DeJoode is President of the Carson & Claire Forever Foundation. Troy has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University, and a law degree from the University of Iowa. He is licensed to practice law in Iowa and Florida. He speaks frequently about resilience, the patient and family experiences in healthcare, the miracle of organ donation, and the importance of living in the moment. Troy lives in Nevada, Iowa with his wife, Michelle and six dogs; Kota, Briggs, Lilly, Coal, Ava, and Sunny. Between them, they have six children: Bretton, Dylan, Ashlynn, Carson, Chase, and Claire. In real life, Troy is Executive Director of the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities and a recovering lawyer.
